LOS ANGELES -- The death toll from wildfires burning in the U.S. state of Hawaii's Maui jumped to 67, Maui County officials said Friday.
As firefighting efforts continue, 12 additional fatalities have been confirmed as of Friday afternoon amid the active Lahaina fire, which brings the death toll to 67 people, a press release issued by the authority said. (U.S.-Wildfire-Death)

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani military claimed to have killed two terrorists in an operation in the Kech district of the country's southwest Balochistan province.

RABAT -- The Moroccan Navy has rescued 67 illegal immigrants from an inflatable boat off the kingdom's southwestern coast, the official news agency MAP reported on Friday.
The immigrants, including a woman and three minors, were saved in waters about 100 km off the coast of Moroccan port town Tarfaya on Thursday, the report said. (Morocco-immigrants-Rescue)

BAGHDAD -- Three people, including a senior member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), were killed on Friday in a Turkish drone strike in Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, the region's counter-terrorism service said in a statement.
A Turkish drone attacked a vehicle on a main road near the town of Penjwen in Sulaymaniyah province, east of the Kurdistan region, at 3:30 p.m. local time (1230 GMT), killing a senior member of the PKK, a militant, and the driver of the vehicle, it noted. (Iraq-Türkiye-PKK)
