CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga, Jan.14 (PIA) -- Manuel Gaerlan officially assumed as the 13th President and Chief Executive Officer of Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
He replaced Noel Manankil who stepped down from office in October 2020.
Gaerlan was sworn in by Bases Conversion and Development Authority President and CEO and Officer-in-Charge for Office of the CDC Chairperson Vince Dizon during today's organizational meeting of the CDC Board of Directors (BOD).
During the oath-taking, CDC Officer-in-Charge Mariza Mandocdoc said the appointment of Gaerlan in office is a welcome development for the state-owned firm.
"Director Gaerlan is very much aware of the opportunities and challenges that Clark faces. With his aspiring leadership, CDC will be able to accomplish much much more for Clark and its stakeholders," Mandocdoc said.
Prior to his appointment as CDC President, Gaerlan was a member of the CDC BOD since March 15, 2019.
In 2002, he earned his Master of Management degree at the Asian Institute of Management, where he graduated with distinction.
As a former President and CEO of Prime Lift and Load Industries, he was able to developed competence on various aspects of management, including operations, strategic planning, marketing, and finance.
Gaerlan graduated from the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 1985 as class valedictorian and summa cum laude, and holds the current record for the highest four-year overall Grade Point Average in PMA history.
He was also a recipient of various awards and citations for his leadership, as well as for his dedication and bravery in public service.
Meanwhile, CDC has also announced the recent designation of Rynah Fragata-Ventura as Vice President for Business Development and Business Enhancement Group and Ralph Lachica Mamauag as Vice President for Engineering Services Group. They were appointed last November 23, 2020 and October 8, 2020, respectively. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
