PanARMENIAN.Net - More than 300 buildings have been restored on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh thanks to humanitarian aid from Russia, the Russian Emergencies Ministry (EMERCOM) has said in a statement.
'The specialists of Russia's EMERCOM, together with representatives of the Ministry of Urban Development of Nagorno-Karabakh, continue to inspect the housing stock and social infrastructure facilities. More than 300 buildings have already been restored using building materials delivered as humanitarian aid from Russia. Over 450 buildings are still being restored,' the statement reads.
On January 14, the specialists visited 10 facilities where work is underway. Most of the buildings are private houses. More than 90 local construction organizations have been involved in the work, of which more than 50 are in Stepanakert.
Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Migration Mane Tandilyan said earlier that around 34,000 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh have become homeless as a result of the six-week war unleashed by Azerbaijan in September 2020. Tandilyan said there is a need for 8-10,000 apartments to provide housing to those who have lost their homes in the war.
