PARIS, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.39 percent, or 21.23 points, to close at 5,495.89 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 26 gained in the day.
French digital transformation leader Atos advanced 3.15 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French-Italian multinational electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics rose 2.40 percent and French omnichannel company Teleperformance gained 2.24 percent.
French distilled beverages producer Pernod Ricard went down by 3.64 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French multinational retailer Carrefour lost 2.23 percent and French multinational rolling stock manufacturer Alstom SA edged down 2.02 percent.
