Ex-Proteas opener Gibbs signs T20 deal with English county side Durham

Pakistan Telegraph (ANI) Saturday 11th February, 2012

Former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs has penned down a deal with English county cricket club Durham for the forthcoming domestic T20 competition, Friends Life T20.

Gibbs expressed delight on signing the deal and praised the talent present in the Durham dressing room.

"Durham are really committed to their on-the-field development and have real ambitions to progress in T20," Sports24 quoted Gibbs, as saying.

"There is some massive talent in the dressing room and I can't wait to see what we can achieve. I've been performing pretty well in the T20 format and I think I can offer some real variation to the side," he said.

Gibbs will once again join former England batsman Paul Collingwood after the pair played for Perth in Australia's Big Bash League and guided them to the finals. (ANI)
