Election Commission clarifies on transfer of CSM Nagar Election Observer

Pakistan Telegraph (ANI) Tuesday 7th February, 2012

The Election Commission of India has said that the decision to transfer Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar Election Observer Pawan Kumar Sen had nothing to do with Monday's incident where he stopped Robert Vadra for violating the Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

The Commission, in a press note today, said the officer acted in accordance with the law and fully in conformity with its instructions.

It further said that the decision to post Sen as the District Election Officer in South Goa was in process for a week, based on the need to replace the present DEO, well before the incident in CSM Nagar took place.

Sen, is an IAS officer of the Goa state cadre. (ANI)
