Rahul not working for his reputation in UP: Priyanka

Pakistan Telegraph (IANS) Sunday 5th February, 2012

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Sunday said her brother Rahul Gandhi was not working for his reputation in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls but to bring about a change of government in the state.

'It is not reputation that matters, it is work that matters,' Priyanka told reporters here.

She said that concerns about Congress not having a strong organisational structure in Uttar Pradesh were raised with Rahul Gandhi in the last assembly polls but he wanted to rebuild the organisation.

'He is working for change, not for his reputation,' Priyanka said in answer to a query.

She is campaigning in Amethi and Rae Bareli -- the constituencies of her brother and mother Sonia Gandhi respectively -- for the Congress candidates.

Answering a query, she said Congress will perform better than in the previous election.

The seven-phased Uttar Pradesh polls are from Feb 8-March 3.
